Alice Hearnshaw
Alice Hearnshaw has over 10 years of experience in information management,
specialising in online information architectures, website usability
and knowledge management strategies. She has trained with Jakob Nielsen
of US-based Nielsen Norman Group and has had repeat custom from the
ANZ Bank, the National Bank of New Zealand, the Ministry of Economic
Development, the Ministry of Social Development, the Energy Safety
Service, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Te Papa, to name a few.
Alice's strengths are to work with business teams to understand what
they need from their web solution, and capture and document those
business requirements in terms that both business and IT people can
understand - from system specifications through to business process
and workflow mapping, and complex problem-solving.
Alice works with your stakeholders, business teams, and site audiences
to make sure your web solution delivers the functionality and information
users both need and can intuitively use. From large-scale intranets
and websites to complex web applications, her approach addresses such
aspects of website usability as:
- menu language and menu/navigation position
- information groupings and hierarchies (information architecture
models)
- the capturing of requirements and translation of these into functionality
- the positioning and naming of functionality within screens
- searchable and readable online content, images and alt-text meta
data models.
